Holy heart failure, Batman! Did you see the acrobatics in that!? Tim Cahill, the ‘Boy Wonder’ of Australian football has emerged from his Asian Cup injuries and is once again firing on all cylinders. His last minute equalizer against Chelsea was enough to bewilder even the most resilient of foes, let alone the unsuspecting Cudicini, who was in goals for injured Peter Cech. In doing so he earned the Toffees a hard fought point and probably secured his spot for goal of the season.
What I’ll be interested in seeing is how nervous Everton manager David Moyes gets when Timmy lines up for the Socceroos next week against Nigeria. Seeing as his last competitive game, pre-injury, was for Australia in the Asian Cup, I’m guessing there’ll be a few sleepless nights ahead for the manager and med. team at Everton. For everyone’s sake, let’s just hope that Batman’s ‘Bad Tackle Repellent Spray’ comes to good use and that Cahill emerges from the match unscathed!
