Another match, another 4 goals… United are really cruising at the moment and as expected, they blew away Dynamo Kiev at Old Trafford. It was just a matter of how many goals they would score. Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo were once again on the score sheet and there was even a first in the competition by Gerard Piqué. With the win, they also qualified for the next stage of the competition.

Barcelona started their match with the intention of breaking down a 10 man defense and it didn’t take long for them to open the visitors up. Henry slid onto the end of a Messi header in the 6th minute, although the replay showed that it struck his hand on the way in… at the moment Henry will take’em anyway they come. The second goal was a schooling lesson on the edge of the box; teachers Ronaldinho and Messi. Their link up turned the Ger’s defense inside out and left them stranded in no mans land.

Inter started slow going behind to two hard fought goals by CSKA front pair Jo and Vagner Love, but were able to pull even before the break. In the second term, they really turned on their style and had a handful of opportunities just breeze across the face of the goal. On 67 minutes, Cambiasso bagged his second from close range and then Ibrahimovic launched a rocket that any Russian would be proud of, into the top right corner of the CSKA goals. Later that night reports from NASA indicated that the ball was traveling at speeds in excess of 11 km per second and at that rate would hit Mars in approximately 130 days… we’ll keep you posted on further reports and sightings.

Could this be a turning point for Liverpool? They were under pressure to perform and desperately needed to prove to their fans and them selves that even though they were down they weren’t out. And they couldn’t have done it in better fashion!… nobody in their wildest dreams would’ve imagined that they’d be scoring the UCL record for a win when Beşiktaş came to town which goes to show what they’re capable of achieving. On the weekend they face Fulham who have yet to score an away win this season, so I wonder if they can do the same to them.

Chelsea need just one win from their remaining two games to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament. Even though they enjoyed large spells of possession, their attacking flair which was recently reinvented by Avram Grant, was missing. Their biggest culprit; Didier Drogba, who wasted three clear-cut chances to provide Chelsea with a victory that would have assured them a place in the next phase after Rosenborg’s shock win over Valencia in Spain.
