As the teams prepare for the much anticipated Champions of Asia v Champions of Europe match later today, Ryan Giggs has come out with this:
It has been the toughest competition to win.
Just to get to the final we first had to qualify for the Champions League, which is tough. Then you have got to win it, which is even more difficult…
It’s a bigger competition now. In the past it was just Europe against South America but, now, every continent is involved.
It would be very special to be crowned champions of the world. Obviously, there are two games to play this time, so it’s going to be even tougher.
But it would be great if we did win”
Blah, blah, blah… he later went on to say how everyone wishes they had this time as a rest period before being swamped by the dozen or so matches they’ll be playing through the Christmas / New Year period. Yeah well last night I wished that for Christmas a Russian model would show up at my front door unannounced and talk dirty to me in a language that makes no sense whatsoever… instead the wrong Chinese takeout was delivered and when I questioned it I was abused in a language that makes no sense whatsoever. Looks like it’s going to be a sad festive season for the both of us Giggsy… Deal with it!
I predict:
Gamba Osaka 0 v 2 Manchester United
