Gareth Barry, Carlos Tevez, Stephen Ireland, and Roque Santa Cruz line up to show the world the kind of fire power Mark Hughes has at his disposal. Noticeable absentee: Emmanuel Adebayor
I’ve been a little reluctant to bring up Manchester Ciy’s summer of spending and thats mainly cause all they seem to have bought with their Emirate oil money, is a bunch of overpriced strikers! At last count I’m pretty sure they had about 9 of them (Adebayor, Bellamy, Benjani, Robinho, Santa Cruz, Tevez, Bojinov, Caicedo, Evans, and a couple of midfielders who can also mix it up front). I mean seriously, at what point do you say enough is enough OR we need some defenders? Anyway, regardless of the playing stock, me thinks it’s going to be one hellofa nightmare for Hughes to handle so many inflated egos, (just quietly he ain’t no Mourinho) and if the teams performs as badly as it did last night against South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs… then Mark Hughes will be in for a very short trip on the money express.

Goal highlights:
I happened to catch the match live while I channel surfed the 300 local channels on offer in the UAE… boy was it horrendous!
