Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal for Real Madrid by way of a penalty... pfft, I feel jibbed!
When you’re carrying around the burden of a €93 million price tag and not shooting fireworks out your own arse, you tend to take whatever’s on offer to make those spark fly… in Ronaldo’s case it was as simple as a penalty!
So you can see how my enthusiasm was short lived as I awoke this morning to the headlines that he had scored his first goal for Real only to further discover that it was by way of a spot kick. I don’t know man, maybe it’s the romantic in me or maybe it’s the preconceived notion I have that, for the money being paid, Ronaldo should score in every match he plays. I mean it was going to happen sooner or later, but I’d always envisaged C-Ron’s first goal for Madrid being some type of long range effort that pinged the top right corner whilst leaving the keeper helplessly stranded or to a lesser extent, something similar… in the end however it was no different to that of a teens first sexual encounter; unexpected, far too quick and extremely embarrassing for all concerned!
