Brian Jensen saves a penalty from Michael Carrick

The other day when I predicted the mid week scores, I didn’t think for one moment that I’d be writing about United losing so soon in the campaign. This morning however, I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard that the Red Devils had been beaten by new boys Burnley, so I could only imagine the jubilation around the North West of England last night. I’m almost certain that at some point after the match the Clarets fans were ejaculating Skittles rainbows and shitting out bunny rabbits… that’s how big this win was for them!
As for United, well, they’re generally slow starters in the league, sleeping giants*, so they’ll take this as a pinch of salt and wake up closer to Christmas to really cause some trouble. Will be interesting to see how this pans out though.

*Is it just me or does Berbatov look like he’s always had far too little sleep?
