Ah, I love cross town rivalries. They really do warm the heart. Nothing screams “Fuck you neighbour!” quite like a few fake dives, a bad penalty decision and two goals by the same player, that only a mere 6 months ago was plying his trade for the opposing team… oh and how could I forget the taunting goal celebrations!
The scene is now set for what should be an interesting return leg at Old Trafford, where I have a sneaking suspicion Tevez just might get an ear full right back at him… but it’s just a sneaking suspicion:

Chelsea seem to have this rare gift that very few teams in this world possess (Manchester United also share this gift)… they always manage to score with one of the last kicks of the game and last night’s match against Blackburn was prime example with Paulo Ferreira popping up to score in stoppage time of second half extra time! I’m not one for making up stories but if I had to guess, I’d say that Roman Abramovich stole a magic lantern off a gypsy on a trip around Europe’s nether regions and occasionally gives it stroke to get the Blues out of sticky situations. Thing is, someone should have told him years ago that it only works for 120 minutes… yep beyond that, whether it be Blackburn Rovers or Manchester United, the luck stops when once you reach a penalty shootout and that’s how you miss out on silverware!

This was the first time in about a million or so games that City didn’t <del>concede stupid goals</del> draw; coincidentally it was the second time in a mere 4 days that Arsenal were out muscled by a stronger, more experienced opponent. What I want to know is when will Arsene Wenger learn? Yes it’s great that he has talented youngsters, but doesn’t he want to start winning shit? After seeing his seniors get ripped apart by City last time the two teams met, sending his younglings into this match was probably not the smartest move and then to top it off he didn’t even have the decency to shake Mark Hughes’ hand after his team were beaten. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t shake Hughes’ hand either, but that’s for different matters entirely. My point here is, next time a snotty Frenchman offers to babysit your kids, kindly tell him to fuck off cause there’s no doubt they’ll be thrown to the wolves to fend for themselves… you know just to see how well they can handle the pressures of being hunted down and savagely slaughtered.

Darren Gibson’s classy two goals, helped an experimental Red Devils triumph over a near full strength Tottenham in their Carling Cup quarter final match at Old Trafford last night… and Sir Ferg. was happy as Larry. Goal.com

And Darron Gibson is the one player in our club who can score great goals from outside the box. He has such tremendous power in his shot…
That second goal was excellent,” said the Scot.
“There was so much movement involved, on and off the ball, and the finish itself was absolutely terrific.
“We have to look upon this as a really good win for us.”

Pfft, whatever dude! The inside of my wrapper just told me I won a free Mars Bar, so technically, I’m the big winner today!

Talk about doing it tough! At half-time, a near full strength Manchester City were a shaky 2-1 up against Championship team Scunthorpe, who actually looked quite impressive on the break. What happened in the second half doesn’t really matter at this point <del>cause it doesn’t help drill home my point</del> but I seem to constantly be asking the same question of City and their billion dollar makeover.
Trying to explain how they play so poorly at times is like Dr.Spok trying to explain how an alien escaped the nether regions of a space/time continuum only to come to Earth and play for Manchester City in the form of one English defender with a freakishly massive forehead… and score goals too. See it’s impossible to explain!

Arsene Wenger’s juniors have kicked the shit out of grown men before [here] so I expected nothing less of them when a half strung Liverpool showed up at the Emirates last night. And yes, I know I’m late to this [as has been the case lately], but so is that waitresses’ period at the bagel shop I’ve been writing my blog from… so excuse me if I’ve got bigger things to worry about, man. Shit why does everything have to be about you anyway?!

United have just grabbed their second trophy of the season and now there’s three to go… can they do it? CRon thinks so:

It is quite difficult to achieve but we are going from game to game,” he told English tabloid The Sun, after the game.
“We always have the opportunity to win everything. We’ve won this cup and now we don’t have much time to celebrate.”

Eh… someone wake me when this season’s over! I’ve stated many times already that United will win the Premiere League and probably the FA Cup although I’m not sure if they’ll dominate Europe again this year… I’ll make that call in a few weeks.
Anyway, they will dominate England again and then Ronaldo will make his long awaited switch to Real Madrid… What!? You know it’s bound to happen! Especially if they take out the UCL as well.

It’s like Tottenham was the older brother play fighting against his younger, more eager sibling and underestimating his strength, while simultaneously copping cheap shots till it’s time to save face and knock him out so he’s not embarrassed anymore… don’t worry, you’ll get yours in the final on March 1st.
I’m predicting a Man Utd win from now.

Like a Godzilla stumbling through the streets of Japan, Tevez with scaly skin and all, ran rampage among the Blackburn backlines. Some great link up play between himself, Anderson and Giggs, tore the Rovers apart and set up Tevez for what would be a memorable night and his first hat-trick + 1 in England. Good for you Carlos! United progress to the semi’s where they’ll probably meet Burnley… and lose. Rawwwr!

Since then the Lillywhites have grown in stature and confidence and are looking more like the classy outfit they were recruited to be… but don’t get me wrong, this classy outfit barley sits outside the relegation zone in the league so they’re more like that classy Russian outfit working the street corner, trying to make their way up the pecking order. You know the kind… mismatching fake-fur garments, purple sequence skirt, pink frilly heels and brand knock-off accessories… Sure their intentions are right and they’re working hard for the money, but they have a long way to go before they’re taken seriously by anyone.

Single handedly picked and pieced together from all reaches of the globe, some described this team as the footballing equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters’ youth side and no magic or wizardry could have helped United from this onslaught.
