With all the festivities and secret Xmas parties taking place in Dublin at the moment, you must excuse me for not getting this up sooner… I’ve been trying to avoid the wrath of ‘Arry and thus been avoiding my computer.

As if the internet wasn’t a big enough platform to talk shit on, over the weekend I was invited on to Radio2′s Totally Football to hang out and talk more shit with resident football guru Sparky. Among doing so, I’d also wanted to use the opportunity to learn more about the English game as a whole and not just what is reported on a daily basis about the glitz and glam of the Premier League. I needed to get to the rudimentary level of it all, to the heart and soul of the game and well what followed was a brutal truth about as unexpected as Burnley’s scrappy win against Man United or worse Man City’s signing of that Brazilian geriatric Sylvinho!

Download the podcast here to find out the lengths I went to in order to best experience cold English winters and lower league football without actually having to go to the North East for Christmas! Sound terrible… it was! Ah the things I do for the game!

Who’d a thought a little Mexican pork would keep me out of action for what felt like an eternity!? And let me tell ya, being probed and prodded was not as fun as it first sounded! Turns out that not even the ‘Swine’ could keep me down though, so after fleeing from quarantine I’m back to write shit about all things football again!
Since I’ve been gone, I know I’ve missed some pivotal matches but the races around England, Spain and the UCL are still on (in a very big way) and the finishing lines are in sight, so from today I’ll continue to be there for every miskick, every ill-timed challenge and every refereeing fault about to make the history books… look out cause I’m back and as immune as ever!

The second however was that we are blessed with some descent matches during the festive season and I’m really hoping this one comes true, cause all I’ve managed since making that wish is a stupid virus on my computer that has destroyed my programs and made me settle for MS Paint to put my header images together (hence the lack of). I also wanted to take this opportunity to say I’ll be heading away for a few days, so my posts may not be as frequent. I’ve been pulling out my hair recently and no it’s not my attempt to look like a balding Wayne Rooney (can you believe he’s only 22!)… im pulling my hair out cause the monkeys that run the two main telcos round here can’t get their shit together and get me internet access. I mean c’mon man… no internet access, isn’t that part of a UN resolution or some shit. That everyone around the world must have access to food, clean drinking water and ultra high speed broadband internet! Anyway I send my apologies on the delayed posts, fingers crossed I’ll be back up and posting regularly in no-time… although I wouldn’t be holding my breath if I were you… I’m in a country where anything can happen and it usually does!

…and hotter than ever! No seriously! I am now living in the UAE where it’s really frickin’ hot! Over the last 5 or so weeks, I’ve been moving and flying and settling into this new environment and trying to get a taste for life over here. Hence why I haven’t been writing so much. Hopefully this move will give me better access to matches the Socceroos play around Asia and to the major European leagues in general, not to mention I will also be able to report on things a lot quicker… It’s a win / win situation and given that the main European leagues start on the weekend (except France and Scotland who jumped the gun 1 week earlier… typical!) it means that I’ll be reporting from this week! Ahh it feels great to be back online again… let the slandering begin!!!

I have to begin this post with an apology to the loyal minions that read this blog cause I’ve been out of action for the last week or so. I’d love to comment further but currently I’m taking part in an Undisclosed Adverse Event and I’ve been swarn to secrecy for the good of Queen and country!
