These predictions may be a little late, but they’re up and being the last game of the season ‘n all, I think I could be forgiven. Our friends at Heads or Tails, who have done a remarkable job all year providing us with La Liga predictions suggest that even though the title will stay in Barcelona, they have to be weary of Valladolid who 4 years ago foiled the Blagauruna’s attempts at claiming the title, allowing Madrid to celebrate instead.
Lastly, seeing as none of the other positions have been decided going into the final round, this weekend is definitely going to see some tough battles and possibly even some surprises.

And the question being asked is who will replace him? More importantly though, I ask who would want to replace him? Real Madrid seems to be one of the hardest teams in world football to manage and even if he were to win the title or Champions League, he’d probably still have to watch his back… heck Capello did after winning the title in ’08.

Right, we’re nearing mid week and with no European obligations looks like I’ll have to settle for some La Liga action instead… on a week night!? The world really has gone mad; well mad for Lionel Messi anyway.

This week the lads at Heads or Tail take a look back and discuss the hot subject of the week, brutality. While Valladolid’s use of force on Portuguese pin-up boy Cristiano Ronaldo has generally been condemned in the media, their coach Onesimo claims CRon is a provocative player who got his justs worth… I’m claiming that his slicked back hair and plucked eyebrows had more of a role to play in the inflicted malice but, that’s metrosexuality these days.
Never the less over on the other side of the country, we face a bag of challenges as it looks like the brutaliy dangerous Barcelona and Lionel Messi are hitting top form again and scoring at will… look out world even Thierry Henry has woken from his mid-season siesta and has started scoring again. Expecting to get a result when you visit Camp Nou is almost as dangerous as bragging to a mob boss about your conquests a week ago with his 18yr old daughter and if you can somehow stay alive or manage to flee the planet after pulling off such a feat, you’re almost deserving of the trophy then and there… but let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet, there are still 90min to be played in this tie and as is stands Barca have the upper hand with their away goal, so the onus is on Ze Germans to attack. Going two-nil up against Barca is the layman’s equivalent of getting Sienna Miller and Kate Moss in the sack… at the same time! So you could imagine how excited the boys from Madrid must have been when Simao buried his free kick and Atleti’s second into the back of Victor Valdes’ net last night. They were licking their lips and rubbing their hands in glee till Zlatan popped up and things got a little tense (aka Sienna had to sneak out and head home). They did manage to hold out of course and at the end of the 90min, (you still had Kate twisted like a pretzel) not only did they walk away as happy as Larry, they managed to break a 21 match unbeaten streak in the process… not bad for a night’s work, if I do say so myself!

Barca are short on defensive players the likes of Dani Alves, Abidal, Pique, Marquez, Chigrinskiy and Touré, which leaves Puyol, Maxwell and Milito as the only first team defensive players available for the match… um, that’s not a good thing given that Kun Agüero and Diego Forlan will be knocking on their door. As expected both Real and Barca took their respective teams to the cleaners this weekend… I have the receipt if you don’t believe me, even though Barca finished the match with 9 men against a resilient Getafe. It was an amicable performance by the visitors, cause playing against 9 men of Barca is similar to playing any other full strength team in La Liga… outside of the top two. As for the rest of the round is was pretty average and so were the predictions by our friends Heads or Tails.
