Things definitely heating up at the top!

With Arsenal’s win sending them top of the pops last night, pressure now lies with United to produce the goods against a Liverpool who have all hands back on deck and firing(?)… not to mention their desire to break into the top four again. If they can combine, Torres and Gerard should give Vidic and [...]

Liverpool 1 v 2 Reading

Knocked out of the Champions League and Carling Cup not so long ago, inconsistent performances in the Premier League against second rate teams [here, here and here], a constant injury cloud over star players Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres and now an FA Cup exit to Championship side and Premier League hopefuls Reading! Oh Benitez, [...]

And his soon to be launched green Nike Total 90 Laser III

The launch of these bad boys may still only be 3 days away, but that didn’t stop me spotting them a mile away. Actually, to be Totally honest, it was Torres’ silky gold locks that got me all hot and bothered at first (reminded me of an old flame!)… more than anything though, I was [...]

They don’t really get much bigger than this, two of the “top four” sides with a rich history of fiery matches, squaring off against each other in a no-holds barred match to the death!… well not quite but I’d be front and center if that was the case and I’d almost pay extra to see [...]

Liverpool 4 v 0 Stoke

When Gerrard and Torres fire, Liverpool are generally unstoppable, but last night saw them welcome a new flame and recruit to Anfield… Glen Johnson. With one goal and one assist, at the moment he is the Premier League’s best right back and in purely statistical terms that makes him more efficient than the whole of [...]

Love mid week action!

I’m slowly sorting through the problems on the site and will be bringing you a full review of the main matches from this round… not much else to report so early on, apart from I don’t think there’ll be too many upsets tonight so here’s how I’ve picked’em:

Judging by the highlights below, it seemed as though Spain were the only team on the attack, whilst their opposition hid in caves continuously tried to catch them on the counter. With laser-like precision (or not), España hit their opposition with wave after wave of attack, almost like they were dropping bombs in the Middle East, so it doesn’t really surprise me that Iraq were on the receiving end again… will that country ever get a break!?

Confed Cup - New Zealand 0 v 5 Spain

C’mon, as if you didn’t know that Fernando Torres and co were going to shit this one in? I must admit though, the 17 minute hat-trick was a bit of a surprise… was there actually another team playing!? It was complete domination and the Spaniards were playing at some sort of divine pace… so I [...]

Liverpool 1 v 3 Chelsea

Guus Hiddink is a renowned fitness enthusiast who is especially good at getting teams to perform at their peak levels whilst still playing an entertaining brand of football. So it’s no wonder that the ever aging Chelsea mob have once again been steered onto the right path of becoming a tough European force… can anybody, [...]

Manchester United 1 v 4 Liverpool

Wow… I think I grossly underestimated Liverpool’s abilities this weekend and may have given even United a little too much credit as well! In all fairness though, not even the maddest of mad Kopites could have imagined a scoreline like this… especially at Old Trafford! But what exactly does this mean? Well I’ve said a [...]

Liverpool 4 v 0 Real Madrid

I haven’t been an admirer of Benitez’s work of late… heck, I haven’t really given Liverpool credit for anything since their win against Chelsea well over a month ago and even then it was cause Chelsea were on the brink of implosion. So anyway, the thing I enjoyed most about watching this match was seeing [...]

Fernando Torres, the ’14yr old looking’ 24 year old, saved Liverpool from their fifth consecutive draw by scoring two late goals and putting a big dent in Chelsea’s title aspirations. And even though I seriously thought they were going to struggle to contain Chelsea last night, it was actually the Blues, who even prior to [...]

Once again I must apologise for my tardy post on this topic, but I couldn’t help partying with the hundreds of thousands of people on the streets of Vienna after the match and then the next morning, after about one hour of shut-eye, I was boarding a plane to come home.So by now there’s no [...]

Rhythmic cheers of ‘Ole!’ rang out as Fernando Torres scored an unstoppable half volley while turning on a dime on the edge of Inter’s penalty box! Sound complicated?… just watch the replay below, it’ll do a better job of describing it: The win put Liverpool through to the next phase of the Champions League along [...]

I’ve worked out why so many of Liverpools players are getting injured. It all boils down to the Latinos and their darn love affair with tradition! On last count there were approximately 14 of them at the club… don’t believe me?.. the list is below.Fernando Torres, who has scored seven goals in 13 first-team appearances [...]
