These predictions may be a little late, but they’re up and being the last game of the season ‘n all, I think I could be forgiven. Our friends at Heads or Tails, who have done a remarkable job all year providing us with La Liga predictions suggest that even though the title will stay in Barcelona, they have to be weary of Valladolid who 4 years ago foiled the Blagauruna’s attempts at claiming the title, allowing Madrid to celebrate instead.
Lastly, seeing as none of the other positions have been decided going into the final round, this weekend is definitely going to see some tough battles and possibly even some surprises.

For the last time this season, here’s how they picked the rest of ‘em.

Predictions:
Atletico Madrid 1 v 2 Getafe
Almería 1 v 2 Sevilla
Osasuna 1 v 3 Xerez
Valencia 1 v 2 Tenerife
Malaga 1 v 3 Real Madrid
Barcelona 3 v 1 Valladolid
Athletic Bilbao 3 v 1 Deportivo
Zaragoza 1 v 2 Villarreal
Mallorca 3 v 1 Espanyol
Racing Santander 2 v 0 Sporting Gijón

While I begin to prepare for the week leading up to the match that will most likely decide the La Liga title this year, ie. Real Madrid v Barcelona next weekend, our amigos at Heads or Tails are looking at the now and suggest that perhaps Sevilla may made a critical long term error by only offering Luis Aragonés a contract till the end of the season, when he was actually after some thing a little more long term.
My question is why would you even hesitate about bringing on a European Championship winning coach for 2-3 years and could this decision by the ignorant fools at Sevilla come back to bite them in the behind? I’m not sure about that, what I am sure of though are their predictions for this weekend.

Right, we’re nearing mid week and with no European obligations looks like I’ll have to settle for some La Liga action instead… on a week night!? The world really has gone mad; well mad for Lionel Messi anyway.
My counterparts over at Heads or Tails are still searching the Spanish equivalent of the Oxford dictionary for an adjective to describe the young man. But does it exist?
All I know is that some media outlets in España are claiming the young Argentine to be the greatest player in the history of football… whoa, easy there fellas! Till he single-handedly wins a World Cup , I don’t think he can claim that title, but he’s definitely up there with the best of them.
So enough with the speculation and onto the err… calculated speculation(?) And here’s how they picked ‘em this week:

Predictions:
Sevilla 2 v 1 Xerez
Tenerife 1 v 1 Villarreal
Almería 1 v 1 Zaragoza
Getafe 1 v 3 Real Madrid
FC Barcelona 4 v 0 Osasuna
Valencia 2 v 1 Málaga
Real Valladolid 3 v 1 Espanyol
Racing Santander 1 v 1 Mallorca

Sporting Gijón 3 v 1 Deportivo La Coruña
Atlético Madrid 2 v 0 Athletic Bilbao

This week the lads at Heads or Tail take a look back and discuss the hot subject of the week, brutality. While Valladolid’s use of force on Portuguese pin-up boy Cristiano Ronaldo has generally been condemned in the media, their coach Onesimo claims CRon is a provocative player who got his justs worth… I’m claiming that his slicked back hair and plucked eyebrows had more of a role to play in the inflicted malice but, that’s metrosexuality these days.
Never the less over on the other side of the country, we face a bag of challenges as it looks like the brutaliy dangerous Barcelona and Lionel Messi are hitting top form again and scoring at will… look out world even Thierry Henry has woken from his mid-season siesta and has started scoring again. Are Barca well on their way for more silverware!?

And this is how they picked the rest of ‘em.

Today’s history lesson kids comes courtesy of our friends at Heads or Tails.
They tell us of a certain cheese eating manager whose family renounced their Spanish heritage after the civil war in 1936 and fled to France. They also informed us of the historical rivalry and the bragging rights that drive a match between two great footballing nations and lastly they conclude with the satisfaction of having beaten this fierce rival, on enemy territory whilst the cheese eating manager who was once “their own”, is now booed by “his own”… it really is quite riverting stuff.
But rest assured, they also guarantee quality matches this weekend in La Liga and this is how they’ve picked ‘em.

WARNING: THIS POST IS HUGE!
Today our amigos at Heads or Tails warn us to expect Barcelona’s first defeat of the season and a chance for Real Madrid to close the gap at the top of the table to just 2 points! Barca are short on defensive players the likes of Dani Alves, Abidal, Pique, Marquez, Chigrinskiy and Touré, which leaves Puyol, Maxwell and Milito as the only first team defensive players available for the match… um, that’s not a good thing given that Kun Agüero and Diego Forlan will be knocking on their door. And this is how the rest of the weekend was predicted.
