Cristiano Ronaldo wearing the Nike Mercurial Vapor IV charcoal / orange / silver boots at training

So the latest installment of the Nike Vapor cleats is this fairly modest colourway of charcoal, orange and silver… they’ll go perfect with my gold plated, diamond encrusted shin-pads! I’m a modest kind’a guy you know.
So it turns out Alexandre Pato will be wearing these shortly, but I’d suspect sooner rather than later of course, that C.Ronaldo will be running around in them… and I’m even going to go as far as saying that he might wear them against West Brom tonight.

Anyone know who else might be wearing them?

Seen Nani wear these ones before. But Ronaldo didn’t don these against West Brom. I like the citron ones though.

Btw, do you have any idea at all why he never wears the SL versions of the vapors i.e black(carbon)soles? I just find it weird.

thans for that Ulrik, I didn’t know Nani was wearing them already… I guess they’ll start doing the rounds soon though… and as nice as the Lime / Citron ones are, eh, they’re a little too over the top for me.

The carbon SL’s, now your talking!
I have no idea why he wouldn’t want to wear them… somehow, I think Nike have the $ay in that! ;)

Well he doesnt wear the sls because they only have moulded studs. He always wears metal.
Nanin doesnt wear the charcoal ones he wore the carbon sls, the ones made completely from carbon fibre.
Just clearing that up for you guys.

Ronaldo doesn’t wear any vapors with the SL soleplate because the carbon fibre isn’t as supportive as Nike would have us believe…they’re prone to shattering, especially given the amount of games in a season now.
Incidentally, the SL’s come in soft ground (metal) studs, but these were generally restricted to the sponsored professionals. They can be found, but are very rare in new condition.
I guess having the world’s best player wearing the vapors, as opposed to the SL’s, means that nike can sell more of the standard boots as well!
