Ronaldo scores the second for United as they go on to romp Gamba 5-3
As expected, Manchester United made easy work of Gamba Osaka in an eight goal spectacle and while doing so progressed to the final of the Fifa Club World Cup to take on Liga Deportiva Universitaria Quito of Ecuador. This was truly an entertaining match with each team coming out to attack and entertain. The Asian Champions started strong and I’m actually a little amazed that they managed to score 2 well constructed goals and a very calmly finished penalty by Endo. I’m also quite relieved that Adelaide didn’t make it to the semi’s against the Red Devils. It would’ve been like a Pitt Bull on a Poodle, a blood bath I tell ya! Don’t get me wrong, it would have been great for them and Australian football, but I can’t help but ask myself, if United brushed aside Gamba the way they did, what would the score have been had Adelaide taken to the field against them? Anyone care to predict?
Full marks to Gamba for taking the match to United even though they came off second best.
